BILL
GREENAWALT
Official Endorsed Candidate of the Democratic Party
Dear
Friend and Neighbor;
On September 13th, I ask for your vote to
be the next Supervisor of the Town of Greenburgh. I have talked with
thousands of voters who agree that 14 years of this administration is
enough. It is time for a change.
It’s time for real leadership in Town Hall.
Professional management. Reasoned decision making. A focus on operations
analysis and efficiency.
Long range planning. And responsible
financial management.
I will
conduct an operational review of our town government in my first 60 days
in office – and I will report the results directly to you.
HERE’S MY 60-DAY ACTION PLAN:
-
I will launch an intensive
operational review of the ability of all departments to
provide
top quality service at minimum
cost. Firstfocus:
problems reported in the Building Department and the Tax
Assessor's Office.
-
Tackle the Town Court mess,
including its financial cover-up, administrative mess, and enormous
(10 year) backlog. Begin building a permanent staff and end costly
reliance on temporary employees.
-
Quantify the dollar penalties of
neglecting infrastructure maintenance for political reasons, and
lay out a long-range plan for gradually correcting infrastructure
problems while maintaining bond ratings.
-
Quantify the need for more police
staff and protection, and introduce measures to remedy the lack
of parking at the Court/Police headquarters.
-
Develop a comprehensive land-use
policy with a stricter “McMansions” law that protects open space
and optimizes land use.
-
Review current budgets and
work with village and unincorporated Greenburgh leaders
to evaluate services needed, and to ensure fair, legal, equitable
budgetary
-
I will make these changes. I will help
give you a Greenburgh we can afford to live in. A Greenburgh we can
be proud of.
My loyalties are anchored in bedrock
Democratic Party values I believe you share. This includes a firm,
unqualified commitment to a woman's right to choose.
Inclusiveness. Villages and unincorporated area working
cooperatively. An independent Town Board, without financial
campaign ties. Checks and balances are the strength of this country
and will be assured in Greenburgh under my leadership. And I will
continue my long commitment to open space and conservation.
I am
grateful for the overwhelming support of the Democratic Party as its
official endorsed candidate, as I am for the endorsement of
The New York Times and The Scarsdale Inquirer and the strong
support of The Rivertowns Enterprise.
Sincerely,

P.S. Please remember to vote on September 13th. |
