Grassroots for Greenburgh is a group of concerned citizens of Greenburgh who care about the quality of life in their community. It is a bipartisan group of people representing the wide diversity of Greenburgh residents who are trying to understand how their Town Government functions. Why, the residents are asking, are the quality of life issues taking second place to the continued and unrelenting assault by developers on our remaining open spaces? Where is the Towns planning and enforcement process to minimize commercialization and preserve the character of Greenburgh? Thus, this group of concerned citizens came together to hold our Town Government accountable for the decisions it is making which adversely impact residents lives. Grassroots for Greenburgh takes an active role in the community discussion on proposed and existing development schemes for our Town. We monitor the elected and appointed officials policies and procedures to assure fair and equitable government. Further, we actively engage in political discussion and will promote candidates and policies that promote the good of the community. If necessary, we will sponsor debates among candidates for elected office as well as support candidates for office. We will monitor the appointment of officials to the Towns policy boards. We will also monitor candidates for both elected and appointed office. At all times Grassroots for Greenburgh strives to work cooperatively with Town officials. But our group does not shy away from questioning any action or process we perceive to be not in the best interests of the Towns citizens. We demand open government, not in name only, but in actuality. We use this web site to inform the community. Please contact us if you need any further information. E-mail us at grassrootsforgreenburgh@worldnet.att.net. Let us know how you feel, what problems you are having with Town policies and how you want to be involved. WE are you. We welcome and encourage your input and involvement. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
